This year's conference themes underline the importance of multi- and interdisciplinary perspectives on aging as we explore the impacts of an aging society with a particular focus on environments and communities.

Research Development Groups

OPAN Cymru is developing a high quality portfolio of research projects. Studies that are adopted onto the OPAN portfolio can benefit from a variety of support, including publicising the research, linking to older people, recruitment of participants, and developing research bids.

Eligibility

A research project eligible for inclusion on the OPAN portfolio is defined as any study funded through a national peer review process in open competition.

Research Development

OPAN aims to turn research ideas into funded studies. If you have any research ideas that you would like to discuss, please contact either of the Research Development Coordinators: Dr Allison Cooper for projects related to stroke: allison.cooper@swansea.ac.uk or Dr Gill Windle for projects related to any other aspects of older people or ageing: g.windle@bangor.ac.uk or the OPAN Coordinator, Carol Maddock: c.a.maddock@swansea.ac.uk

OPAN would also like to hear about any relevant research projects on older people and ageing, however funded, including those undertaken by PhD students.

OPAN Cymru supports the research community in Wales to help increase the amount of high quality research undertaken. The links here aim to provide researchers with access to up to date sources of funding and information.

OPAN Cymru is launching a new call for proposals for Research Development Groups (RDGs).
